Yoga Day JAKHAPUR KAVTHE MAHAKAL

Suzlon Foundation, in partnership with Prerana Foundation, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 at Siddhnath High School, Jakhapur, where 220 students actively participated in yoga, pranayama, and meditation sessions. The initiative promoted physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices, inspiring students to make yoga a part of their daily lives.

Water purifier Support to Z P School Vaiphle Tasgav.

During a school assessment, it was observed that students were drinking untreated bore well water, putting them at risk of water-borne diseases. To ensure a healthier future for children, Suzlon Foundation, in partnership with Prerana Foundation, installed a 100 LPH RO Water Purifier at Vaiphle School, Tasgaon. The initiative now provides 320 students and teachers with access to safe and purified drinking water every day, reducing health risks and creating a healthier learning environment. Healthy children are the foundation of a stronger, brighter future.

Tree Plantation Drive Wagholi, Ghatnandre, Jakhapur Block KAVTHE MAHAKAL

To promote environmental conservation and community participation, Suzlon Foundation, in partnership with Prerana Foundation, organized a Tree Plantation Drive across Wagholi, Ghatnandre, and Jakhapur villages in Kavathe Mahankal Block. As part of the initiative, 1,000 tree saplings were distributed to encourage households and communities to plant and nurture trees. Every sapling planted today is a step towards cleaner air, a healthier environment, and a sustainable future. Together, we are growing greener villages for generations to come.

Sport kit Jath Khanapur Kohlpur

With the generous CSR support of Suzlon Foundation, Pune, and implementation by Prerana Foundation, Yedenipani, the Sports Kit Distribution Initiative reached 3,889 students across Jath, Khanapur, and Kolhapur during FY 2025–2026. The initiative promotes physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and holistic development by ensuring students have access to quality sports equipment, creating opportunities for every child to participate, play, and excel.

VDC Income Generation Activity For SHG Group _ Ghoti Budruk khanapur.

In Ghoti Budruk village, Khanapur Taluka, community events and social gatherings frequently relied on single-use plastic plates and bowls for serving hot meals. It was observed that hot food served in plastic containers could pose potential health risks while also contributing to environmental pollution.
To address this issue, Suzlon Foundation, in partnership with Prerana Foundation, supported the Village Development Committee (VDC) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing reusable stainless steel plates and bowls. This initiative promotes safe and hygienic community dining, significantly reduces plastic waste, and creates an income-generating opportunity for SHGs through the rental of the utensils for local events.
By replacing single-use plastic with durable steel utensils, the village has taken a meaningful step towards protecting both community health and the environment, while strengthening sustainable rural livelihoods.

Pond Desilting – Under SUJAL SHAKTI Project

Project Area: Khanapur, Tasgaon & Kavathe Mahankal Blocks, Sangli District

Under the SUJAL SHAKTI Project, pond desilting was carried out in 13 villages across Khanapur, Tasgaon, and Kavathe Mahankal blocks of Sangli district. The removal of accumulated silt has significantly enhanced the water storage capacity, creating an additional 10,000–12,000 cubic meters (Cum) of water storage. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 20,000 people by improving groundwater recharge, increasing water availability for agriculture, and ensuring sustainable water resources for the community.

Plastic Collection Drive

As part of a cluster-level Plastic Collection Drive, students from schools across the project area collected 125 kg of plastic waste. The collected plastic was transported to the Plastic Recycling Unit at Nagoli, Kavathe Mahankal for scientific recycling. “Every piece of plastic collected is a step towards a cleaner village and a healthier future. By involving school children in plastic collection and recycling, we are nurturing responsible citizens and promoting the message of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Together, small actions can create a big impact on our environment.”

Health Camp – Dhondewadi

Venue: Dhondewadi Village, Khanapur Block
Dhondewadi is a remote hilly village with limited access to healthcare facilities. To address this need, a Health Camp was organized, providing free medical check-ups, health consultations, and basic medicines to the local community. The camp benefited 100 villagers, improving access to essential healthcare services and promoting awareness about preventive health practices.

Handmade Bird Nest Initiative

Students from Valsang Village actively participated in an environmental awareness activity by creating 250 handmade bird nests using eco-friendly and recyclable materials. The initiative encouraged creativity, environmental responsibility, and compassion for wildlife while providing safe nesting spaces for birds.

Digital E-Learning Unit Installation

To strengthen digital education in rural schools, Digital E-Learning Units were installed at schools in Jakhapur and Belunkhi. The initiative has benefited 500 students by providing access to interactive digital learning resources, making education more engaging, technology-driven, and effective while bridging the digital divide in rural communities.

Computer Support

Cloth Bag Distribution

To promote a plastic-free environment, reusable cloth bags were distributed to students at Jadhavmala Z.P. School. The initiative encouraged students and their families to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags and adopt sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives in their daily lives.”Every cloth bag used is one less plastic bag polluting our environment. Chess Competition

A Chess Competition was organized at Sidheshwar High School, Jakhapur, to promote critical thinking, concentration, and strategic decision-making among students. The activity encouraged healthy competition while helping students strengthen their problem-solving abilities, patience, and confidence—essential skills for both academic success and personal growth.

Sparrow Bird Nest Installation

A Sparrow Bird Nest Installation activity was conducted at Z.P. School, Jarandi, to promote bird conservation and environmental awareness among students. Eco-friendly bird nests were installed to provide safe shelter for sparrows, whose population has been declining due to urbanization and habitat loss. The initiative encouraged students to protect biodiversity and develop a sense of responsibility towards nature.

Anganwadi Support – Grain Storage Bins

Support Provided: 40 Grain Storage Bins (50 kg Capacity Each)
To strengthen nutrition services in rural communities, 40 grain storage bins (50 kg capacity each) were distributed to Anganwadi Centres across Jath, Khanapur, and Kolhapur. These storage bins ensure the safe, hygienic, and organized storage of food grains used for supplementary nutrition, helping reduce food wastage and improve food safety for children and mothers.
“Better storage means better nutrition. By providing grain storage bins to Anganwadi Centres, we are supporting healthier children, reducing food wastage, and strengthening rural nutrition systems for a brighter future.”

Solar Electrification for Sub-Divisional Revenue Office

To promote sustainable governance and reduce dependence on conventional electricity, Suzlon Foundation, in partnership with Prerana Foundation, installed a 30 kW On-Grid Solar Power Plant at the Sub-Divisional Revenue Office (SDO), Jath.
This initiative enables the government office to harness clean, renewable energy, reducing electricity costs and carbon emissions while ensuring more sustainable public services. Every unit of solar energy generated today is an investment in a cleaner, greener tomorrow

School construction

As part of the village needs assessment, Prerana Foundation identified that the government school in Basragi Village was operating in a severely deteriorated building with a damaged tin roof, missing doors, and inadequate infrastructure, making the learning environment unsafe for students.With the generous CSR support of Mastek Foundation, Prerana Foundation successfully renovated and strengthened the school infrastructure, creating a safe, secure, and child-friendly learning space. The intervention has significantly improved the educational environment, enabling students to learn with dignity, comfort, and confidence.Impact: The project transformed an unsafe school into a functional and welcoming learning environment, ensuring better educational opportunities and inspiring hope for the children and the community.
